The Esping Family Foundation philosophy is rooted in the heart of its founder's theory of success: the free enterprise system. Free enterprise allows mankind to realize the American dream, to succeed through hard work, persistence, creativity and determination. Without the free enterprise system this foundation would not exist. Our foundation will strive to help others help themselves by supporting active programs with strong leadership and entrepreneurial activity.

As a foundation, we will commit our time and energy to research and aid programs about which we feel strongly.

The Esping Family Foundation exists to help people and institutions of Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas help themselves and future generations.

Grants are made in four categories:

  • Education
  • Human Services
  • Health
  • Art and Culture

Within these categories of giving, there are currently three areas of high interest.

  • Improving the education outcomes of Texas children (K-12)
  • Children and Families
  • Youth Development

The Esping Family Foundation has chosen to be an entrepreneurial type of foundation, one that reaches out and interacts with its grantees instead of simply reading proposals and giving awards based on the descriptions there in. We believe in a strong relationship between the foundation and the recipient involving continual input, communication and follow through. We see projects that are creative, innovative and that are likely to continue and expand after the grant period.

We believe in our ability to make a difference by understanding the major problems that face us as a people. We believe the family is a primary and vital social unit that helps to contribute to a healthy society. We believe in the improvement of our community to ensure the safety for our children and young people who represent the future.
